Speech Synthesizers from Acapela Group

VS Communicator 3.10 contains the voices Heather and Ryan from Acapela Group (former Babel-Infovox).
Heather and Ryan have friendly, human-sounding voices that are easy to understand. During the installation you are given the choice of which voice you prefer to have installed in your computer.
These high-quality voices have become extremely popular, and now there’s finally a communication program that includes the best voices available, at no extra cost!
Important Notice: The voices are not part of the Internet download. For new customers of Communicator, this feature is part of the shipped package. Existing customers are eligible for a free update that contains the voices. Contact your local dealer for more information.

AT Ease Communication Displays

AT Ease is a set of ready-made communication displays developed by health professionals with 30+ years of experience from working with people with communicational challenges!
The displays are available in two variations, one for adults and one for children.
Together with the voices from Acapela (also included in VS Communicator 3), AT Ease Communication Displays makes an excellent starting point for creating a personal communication solution as quickly as possible.
People in the user’s close proximity make use of the Edit Button Wizard to change the content of a button, in order for everyone (including inexperienced PC users) to be able to add and/or change the content of the communication display to suit the user. The guide can be reached directly without opening Setup View
AT Ease communication displays use the PCS symbols from Mayer-Johnson.
Important Notice: AT Ease communication displays are not part of the Internet download.

Full Access with AppScan

Full access to Windows for switch users!
AppScan gives switch users full access to other applications by allowing you to move the pointer and carry out mouse clicks with switches.
This function is fully integrated in Communicator, which means one can go directly to and from Communicator without any helpers being present.
AppScan allows you to do exactly the same with a switch as you can do with a mouse!

Prepare Texts for Later Use

The updated version contains special panels which let users open, save and edit text files directly from Communicator.
These features can be used for things like doing homework, keeping a diary, preparing a conversation etc.

A lot of minor improvements

Viking Software is continuously working on small and large improvements:
- Better and more intelligent magnification mechanism.
- Faster screen update gives higher efficiency on low capacity computers.
- An on-screen rest area is shown after the Communicator has performed a "dwell click".
- The speed of synthesized speech is easier to modify.
- ...a number of other improvements.
